Proprietary Trading: Solas Financial operates a multi strategy, multi time frame, multi asset, private investment fund. The capital is managed using quantative and systematic trading methodologies.

Trader and Investor Education: Solas delivers market-leading trading and investor training services to self-directed investors and active traders who want to trade professionally.

Stephen Egan: Managing Director

Stephen, a qualified engineer, formed Solas Financial Sept 2004. Stephen is an active investor and trader in equities, futures and options. Prior to forming Solas Financial, from 1996 – 2004 Stephen served as operations director of Trade Signal Corporation Limited which develops and delivers quantitative futures systems and derivatives analysis to institutional and retail futures traders. Its products are licensed by over 80 U.S. futures brokers and some of the world’s largest derivatives exchanges. The business was sold to a US based futures brokerage in 2004. Stephen is married with two kids, Jack and Emma, enjoys cycling, fishing and reading.

Micheál Ó Cróinín: Director

Micheál, an economics graduate of UCC, Micheál has extensive experience in the financial services business having worked with Bank of Ireland Life and Pensions as an investment advisor. Prior to joining BOI, Micheál spent 3 years as a futures markets technical analyst with Trade Signal Corporation where he was jointly responsible for the firms widely syndicated fundamental and technical analysis futures newsletter. Micheál is an active short term trader. When he is not trading Micheál enjoys football and is very active in the GAA.

Arthur S. Campbell: FCA

Along with graduating from UCD with degrees in Business, Finance and Accounting, Arthur is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and has extensive international experience in industry both as a CFO and an entrepreneur. Arthur is an active full time trader and heads up the educational division of Solas. He is a specialist in advanced options strategies together with Foreign Exchange Trading using both fundamental and technical analysis. Arthur delivers Stock Market, Forex and Futures Courses at Solas Financial. When he’s not trading, he enjoys playing golf and watching sports.

Morgan Fitzgibbon: Director of the Algorithmic Trading Group

Morgan, a qualified Engineer, he worked for over 15 years in the design and architecting of algorithmic based control systems for a number of Fortune 500 telecommunications and chip design companies. Morgan has filed patents and has authored several papers in the area of control theory. Morgan heads up systematic development team within Solas.
