Trainee Quant Analyst – Trader

Solas Financial is expanding its hedge fund operation and is looking to recruit trainee researchers / quantitative traders.
This is a rare and exceptional opportunity to join a young, growing and dynamic group of researchers and systems traders. In this role, you will be exposed to the full strategy development process from idea conception and research to development, backtesting and trading.

We are searching for the top 1% of graduates from all levels (Bachelors to PhD) with degrees from a quantitative discipline (Engineering, computer science, mathematics or the hard sciences). The desired candidate will have an exceptional academic record, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously. For the right person there is significant opportunity for training, further education, and professional development.

As well as raw ability, applicants must have well developed mathematical skills, programming skills, and the ability to work with large quantities of data.

Sales Trader

Solas Financial is currently looking for a highly motivated, self-driven sales professional to join its rapidly expanding Quantative Analysis and DMA Platform Trading business.
We are currently looking for talented and motivated brokerage sales candidates with proven track record and experience in selling DMA and Algo based electronic trading solutions to join us.

Extensive knowledge of Equities and other asset classes such as Futures and FX is essential and knowledge of trading technology would be an added advantage. The role requires creative selling and proactive relationship management of high net worth individuals and institutional clients.
Qualifications,

An ideal candidate should possess:

• A degree in Finance/Business is preferred
• 5+ years of financial industry experience in a brokerage sales environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Solid understanding of Financial Markets and Industry Practices
• Understanding of the challenges in the brokerage – spread trading business and the
  creativity to think about value-added solutions for clients
• Prior experience as a sales in electronic trading solutions, DMA, Algorithmic
  strategies experience is important.
